I have never felt as supported within an organisation as much as I do here.
I have worked for Fairport Care Services for over seven years now and have never felt as supported within an organisation as much as I do here. The support I receive from management and directors is what keeps me motivated and keen to continue to progress within the company. This support has enabled me to grow and develop personally and professionally. When I experienced a bereavement within my family the support I received from my manager and directors was exceptional. I have been supported within my career development and have progressed from being employed originally as a project worker to now being promoted and taking on the role of senior team leader. Since working for the organisation I have gained my level 5 diploma in leadership and management and I am currently being supported to complete my post graduate diploma in Play Therapy.
I continue to work for Fairport Care Services because the organisation is very much about the needs of the children and working with their families. I strongly believe in their ethos and their culture. The house is always warm, comfortable and inviting for the children, staff and professionals. I have always experienced Fairport care services putting the needs of the children first, advocating for the children and ensuring that the children’s voices are heard above everyone else’s. During my time at Fairlight House I have seen so many positive significant changes occur within the young people which I feel strongly is because of the support and training that the staff receive, the therapeutic thinking that we all hold in mind, the dedication that the directors, management and staff put in and how the children are seen as an individual and a victim of their system not as the “problem”.

I have not stopped learning and growing
I started work with Fairport Care Services early 2013 initially part time as a mentor and then this lead to a full-time position. I left late 2014 to try and apply the therapeutic skills I had learnt elsewhere and quickly became disillusioned by my own expectation that other companies would apply the same therapeutic values and child focused thinking towards the young people, but in truth, Fairlight house and Fairport Care Services excel in this. Since coming back late 2015, I have felt that I have not stopped learning and growing and of all the companies I have worked for, we go the furthest in trying to make a difference to the children.

I have been provided with many opportunities to increase both my professional and personal development and I feel like I am learning all the time.
I only started working with Fairport Care services in July 2016 as a full time project worker. When I started working at Fairlight house I was very anxious about starting but this was short-lived as I was welcomed by all members of staff into the team. The role can be challenging and demanding at times. However, with such a strong management team and the high level of support and guidance that has been provided to me has enabled me to work effectively within the workplace and as part of the team. Since the beginning of my employment I have been provided with many opportunities to increase both my professional and personal development and I feel like I am learning all the time. The work that Fairport care services does with traumatised and vulnerable young people is outstanding and I would highly recommend them as an employer.

One of the best decisions I have ever made.
My views and opinions are always listened to and I have always felt valued by directors and the manager which I believe is why I am still here after 8 years. It was one of the best decisions I have made applying for the post at Fairport and would highly recommend them as an employer to anyone.

I personally feel very loyal to Fairport Care Services due to their beliefs and values
I have worked with Fairport Care Services since they opened in May 2006. I previously had no experience working with young people within a residential setting. It soon become apparent talking to staff that I have worked with over the years that Fairlight House was different in the way in which the young people were thought about and looked after and I heard numerous times “it’s not like other homes I’ve worked at”. The young people are treated fairly, not judged, given the space to have a voice without being ignored or put down for what they say, the behaviours are worked with and not just punished; staff genuinely care about the young people and work as a team to achieve the best they can for them.
I personally feel very loyal to the company due to their beliefs and values in looking after young people and also the support that is given to aid my development, professionally and emotionally.

The depth of knowledge, skills and experience within the Fairlight House continues to amaze me.
I joined the team as a senior project worker in July 2016. I have worked previously in a large children's home looking after vulnerable children and young people with complex needs, challenging behaviours and communication difficulties.
I was initially quite anxious about beginning my position at Fairport as I had not previously worked in a setting with such a profound therapeutic approach. I was however immediately reassured and welcomed by staff and management teams who encouraged me to learn through observation, mentoring and expressing curiosity. The depth of knowledge, skills and experience within the house continues to amaze me.
I enjoy working as part of a small team in which every member is dedicated to providing the highest level of care and support to the young people residing at Fairlight house, their families and their fellow team members. The sense of togetherness and encouragement resounds around the home.
Despite being a relatively new member of the team, everyone has helped to build my confidence within my role and empowered me to begin to learn and develop my knowledge and skills in a kind and respectful way. The management team are approachable, hold regular supervision and provide support and guidance whenever it has been needed, often without me having to seek it out.
I have already been encouraged and supported to further my own knowledge and professional development even though I have only been in position for a short amount of time, something I have not seen in previous places of employment, which shows me how dedicated they are in investing in each member of their staff team and ensuring they are the best that they can be and that the highest level of care is provided at all times.
I feel the most humbling thing about Fairport is how each and every member of the team believes wholeheartedly in the organisations ethos, objectives and commitment for positive outcomes, which in turn only has a positive impact on the very vulnerable young people in our care.
